The Bishop of Bunbury

On Saturday, 17th April 2010 Anglicans
from around the South West and Great Southern
gathered together in Bunbury and elected The Rt.
Revd. Allan Ewing to be the ninth bishop of the
Diocese of Bunbury. Currently Bishop Allan is
serving in the Diocese of Canberra/Goulburn.
He is married to Tricia, a medical scientist working
in public health administration, and together they
have two adult sons and one grandchild.
Bishop Allan is 58 years of age and worked as
a qualified accountant and commercial manager in
Tasmania before being ordained as a Priest in the
Anglican Church in 1988. Then in 2004, having
faithfully served in rural, urban and city parishes
he was consecrated a Bishop in Canberra/Goulburn.
Working with community leaders has been a
significant part of Bishop Allan’s experience.
Whether at a local service club, community
organisation, parish council, diocesan committee or
national group he has found great pleasure in
achieving things with others. He appreciates
the value gained from every person working together
and the impact this has had on his own life.
Bishop Allan has had a diverse ministry. He
has served in Canberra (twice), Holbrook, and
Batemans Bay, has been an Archdeacon, Chair of the
Rural Church Task Force, and has been Regional
Bishop in Wagga Wagga.
Born in England in 1951, Australia has been Bishop Allan’s and Tricia’s home for nearly 30 years. He enjoys walking, literature and recorded music. He is a published author on several theological issues and is a well known and respected Bishop of the Anglican Church of Australia.
The clergy and people of the Diocese of Bunbury are
excited and pleased to have Bishop Allan as our
shepherd and we welcome
him with
loving and open hearts.
