Professional Standards
The Anglican Diocese of Bunbury does not tolerate harassment or abuse in
its Church community. Such issues are taken very seriously.
The Anglican Church is committed to ensuring that all people associated
with the Church can participate in a healthy, safe and responsible
environment.
When the welfare of any member of the Anglican community is impacted by
misconduct or abuse, the Church will endeavour to provide immediate
support to everyone affected.
Since 2004, the Professional Standards Unit in Perth has served all
three dioceses in Western Australia (Perth, Bunbury and North West
Australia) in professional standards matters.
The Professional Standards Unit has several responsibilities which
include:
* Setting professional and ethical standards throughout the Anglican
Church in WA;
* Receiving and managing complaints of sexual misconduct and abuse by
Church Workers;
* Education and awareness in the area of child protection and sexual
misconduct;
* Advising and assisting Church Workers and members of the public with
queries on a variety of professional and ethical issues within the
Church.
The work of the Professional Standards Unit relies on information
provided by the Church and wider community. If you suspect that someone
is being abused or taken advantage of by anyone associated with the
Anglican Church, please contact the Director of the Professional
Standards Unit on (08) 9325 7455 or by email
